In recent weeks, we have discovered that Eowyn possesses several great fears that run the gamut and are eerily reminiscent of some of her mother's childhood apprehensions. To begin: Eowyn is afraid of Chuckee Cheese (like her mom....yes, still). Eowyn is afraid of her skin coming in contact with grass (This is hilarious to watch). Eowyn is afraid of the vacuum cleaner (unlike her mother who has a borderline OCD love affair with it). Eowyn is afraid of being separated from her mother (Fortunately, I still find this flattering). AND Eowyn is deathly afraid of animals (This general disdain for the beasts of the field, I believe, originates in the Neil Kulp genetic lottery). However, like any well-intentioned parent, we've attempted immersion therapy and have exposed her to a large dancing mouse, fields of green, and a farm full of animals. And in that spirit, this past Memorial day weekend, we journeyed to Washington, PA (once again) to visit friends and -more importantly-affirm the arranged marriage between Eowyn and her betrothed, Malachi (not her cousin). A farm excursion provided opportunity for Eowyn to be exposed to several intimidating bovines. I am not certain which was more amusing- Eowyn's death grip while making eye contact with a cow OR how Shiloh & I resembled an episode from Paris Hilton's The Simple Life.
