Happy New Year

Admittedly, I have been completely delinquent in amending this blog and perhaps the anxiety I contend with at present is due to an inflated misperception of the popularity my narratives. For, in truth, I have received only one (sadly singular) petition for an update (from a devoted aunt). Nevertheless, I believe I may have nearly succumbed to the dreaded mommy malaise –emulating the cliché of one who unduly prizes showers, clothes lacking spit-up and songs not sung by cartoonish figures with pre-pubescent voices. Truly, the impetus for my unraveling, perpetual “pajamatization” and cyber silence is my adorably insatiable son, Kincaid, whose gluttonous growth-spurt seems unceasing.

However, lest this entry decline into a desultory sleep-deprivation-induced diatribe, I must confess my absolute and utter devotion to this diminutive darling. Kincaid’s languorous smiles and whimsical laughter dispel even the most damning indictors of fatigue and general domestic demise. I am utterly in love with this little man.

Thus, in lieu of lengthy and verbose summative recounting of the recent happenstance over the past two months, suffice to say the following events have transpired- many with great pomp and circumstance effectually stealing otherwise available blogging time:

1. Tragically, I bade farewell to my twenties and entered the decade during which I will forge an interminable relationship with L’Oreal Excellence. I was honored by attentions of friends who mourned the passage of my youth and celebrated the “cougar” years to come with me.

2. Our Christmas was magical and perfect and a testament to the genius of Disney’s marketing of Princess products. Here are a few of Eowyn’s indispensable Princess paraphernalia-A Princess toothbrush, Princess potty seat, Princess tiara, wand, sparkle skirt, and stilettos, Princess movies, Princess books, Princess kitchen set, Princess lip gloss, Princess shampoo, conditioner and bubble bath, and a Princess cell phone…Apparently- shares in Princess stock should also be on this list.

3. An intimate dinner party was hosted to celebrate Jason’s arrival at the venerable age of thirty-four. Indeed, Jason “robbed the cradle”, and I secured a sexy sugar daddy :)

4. We relished an extended visitation with the illustrious Uncle Jeffrey whose bachelor status is both surprising and perhaps permanently preferred, after having spent two weeks in the company of his precocious 2 ½ year old niece. Truly, we loathe his retreat to the red states. We love him so.

5. Finally, my lovely sister-the remaining Kulp bachelorette- bid adieu to the eHarmony scene and as of January 2nd, will now be filing jointly.

Surrendering to sentiment, I must convey my gratitude for the blessings of this previous year. With great anticipation, we look forward to what the Lord will do in this coming year. . . to include a Republican revolution in the Congress and the eventual apprehension of the White House in 2012! Happy New Year!
