Barely Like Beckham

What red-blooded American mom doesn't want their little "Beckham" to succeed in European football?Surely, not this newly minted soccer mom! And, as I have learned, soccer swag nearly rivals field performance in importance.  Trust me, Kincaid looks like a tiny (Yankee) David Beckham. However, my friend, that is where the similarities come to a screeching halt between my Caid and the accented midfield eye candy from across the pond.

While Kincaid does possess dribbling skills and a general athleticism (objectively speaking, of course), it appears all of his famed aggression has been forsaken at the goal line. There, in the glare of morning sun, he stood, implacable and immovable. His Lightening McQueen red cleats were fixed resolutely on a patch of grass while his miniature-jerseyed teammates loped around him. Then, finally, he began to run . . . right off the field into my arms. Sigh.  So, I am officially a European football mom in form -just not function. Though Caid is barely like Beckham, both boys are easy on the eyes. And that goes a long way for an adoring fan like me.

Regardless, he is still one adorable kid. Maybe his "goal" for the season will be to stay on the field for 15 minutes:)

Maybe it's just the soccer field version of 'stage fright'! Love the blogs new look!! (Are you just moving to new digs in Hawaii or will be there be a bigger change?)
