Pinterest shares the blame. The pressure is tremendous-Totally self-imposed but crushing, nonetheless. Fashioning, hosting, chaperoning and surviving a child's birthday extravaganza is not for the parental faint of heart. So great is our love for Kincaid that I nearly sacrificated my sanity for the sake of his soccer soiree. (More the fool am I!) Poolside at the Peninsula -of course- twentyish of his tiny friends gathered to fete my four year old. Water balloons, whip cream pies, and whirling pinata swings. Iconic soccer field treats. Soccer swag -goal nets and orange cones- the theme pervades. Buoyant chaos reigns but Caid's laughter offers gratifying reward.
