Eowyn’s favorite (and singular) cousin Malachi successfully reached his first birthday with all the aplomb of infancy athleticism and (Kulp-inherited) charm! Though their friendship of nine months has admittedly been marked with tenuous relations ensuing primarily from Malachi’s “special” love smacks, his toy thievery and occasional Socialist-inspired food re-distribution, I do cherish the dream that they will soon be fast friends- Eowyn sharing Malachi’s penchant for mobility and Malachi engaging in Eowyn’s baby-babble- conservative political reparatee. To my sister Erika’s credit, the Phillies’ inspired décor enhanced the festivities and though the “home-plate”-shaped streamers resembled dreidals, Malachi’s yiddish name satisfied all apparent wrongs. Even more appropriately, the menu provided for the possible Jewish guest, as Hebrew National Hotdogs, comprised of dove, fish and loaves were served. Overall, the birthday soiree was a wild success and Eowyn and Malachi maintain (and enjoy) their celebrity-du jour status…until someone has another baby.
