The frenzy of holiday activity is my elixir of choice. This year was no exception, especially
considering the presence of our precocious little Princess. Undaunted by belligerent tape and cumbersome boxes, she forged ahead with intrepid resolve. Memorializing these moments with our new Christmas Camera may subject you to the “morning”, less glamorous version of our family, but photographic integrity must prevail. Later in the day, we made the requisite, time-honored traditional visit to 544 Melody Lane for the gathering of multi-generational Kulp’s and the newly birthed firstborns: Anna, Eowyn & Malachi. As my (eloquent & beautiful) cousin aptly noted, the ephemeral crown of first born glory has been passed onto the tiny heads of our children and our identities are no longer distinct. Sadly, we are now just “the Frankenfields” or the “Colemans” or the “Heebners”. We get family gifts and family photos and family vehicles etc… Though Gloria Steinhem would certainly abhor such anonymity amongst our crowd of thirty-one, I, Melissa, the former reigning first born, would be tragically remiss should such festivities cease in their occurrence and such babies not be added to our number. In sum, a Merry Christmas was had by all of “The Frankenfields”!
