I would be remiss (or the victim of a pregnant women’s fury) if I failed to celebrate the birthday of my favorite faux blond sister, Erika. Though the realization of her WNBA and school bus-driver dreams has been eclipsed by motherhood and mini-van domesticity, Erika has demonstrated unparalleled ingenuity in home renovations and otherwise presumably masculine achievements. If considering and then buying fields were all the rage, Erika would make this elusive Proverbs 31 chick look deficient. Additionally, the tenacity and confidence once seen on PBU’s court now emanates from Erika’s Biblical convictions and abiding integrity. Jeremy, Malachi and Palin (to be) are the lucky ones-that is- if we, Calvinists believed in luck, which we don’t. Happy Birthday anyway, Erika.
