Easter Egg Hunt

Eowyn’s enthusiasm for this annual Easter egg hunt far exceeded her tepid –eleven month old- interest of the previous year. I believe the frigid snows and her inability to walk mitigated her full engagement. Nevertheless, a breezy morning sans snow provided the perfect theater for her unbridled ambition in the hunt. Dressed in her favorite pink tutu (a compulsory ensemble complement- “Tutu, peeeeeeease!”), Eowyn hesitantly followed the large white rabbit to the hunting grounds. However, her apprehensions were literally thrown to the wind, as within moments, she was off without persuasion, boxing out smaller children to secure the pastel “eckg”. In fact, I was assured once again that my petite protégé is destined for Reagan republicanism when she reached her egg “quota” and began to protest the injustice of the end to her hunt. Truly, I find the simplicity of capitalism so beautiful in its innocence. The morning concluded with Eowyn gluttonously consuming every morsel of chocolate she could manage to de-foil. This was a surprisingly impressive number. She subsequently crashed into a saccharine burn-out a short time later.
