This year, we celebrated Easter like the “typical white family”, as B. Hussein Obama had predicted. And while giving no deference to the ominous easter bunny or to the springtime snowflakes, we enthusiastically facilitated Eowyn’s first egg hunt (read: Reach and grab the egg for her, forcing fist open and placing egg in her tiny hand). Much to our delight, she took to both the eggs and CRAWLING within the same weekend- becoming the holiday miracle and a relief to all who were confident that Eowyn’s immobility would lead to illiteracy and a Democratic voting record. She is not exactly a “fish to water” sort of crawler, but again, even her mother struggles with fluid movement from time to time. Nevertheless, the Easter festivities on Resurrection Sunday with the extended family were demarcated by the usual exchange of witticisms, political commentary, hyperbolic reminiscing and family folklore. Not surprisingly, Eowyn relishes the blithe engagements and performs without reticence for all who will indulge her theatrics. The Kulp blood runs strong in this impish actress. Finally, perfecting this Easter holiday was the auspicious presence of our war hero cousin, “Uncle Jake” who has become a fast favorite of all junior Kulp family members (Eowyn, Malachi & Anna). Admittedly, the revelry is not justly captured in even my verbose prose; so, if you were not in attendance at these famed festivities, you’ll simply have to trust it was just another “typical white person’s” Easter (who loves Jesus)!
