Circa 1984, my cousin Laura and I began to lay our plans for life. Whether fortified within in a rhododendron bush or conspiring under the boardwalk or straddling a tree limb, we divined our futures. Admittedly, my ambitions were often reckless, impulsive, expensive and/or dangerous resulting in Laura’s corrupted complicity and punishment by my mom who loved to spank. Conversely, Laura perfected demure femininity with the aplomb of a debutante belle. While Laura showcased her meticulous craft organizer, I exploited familial patrons who paid for admittance to my “Tooth Museum” showcasing ten pulled teeth and pursuant dental apparatuses. However, in truth, we devoted most of our tête-à-têtes to the tactical and tenacious pursuit of “studmuffins” (a word created by Laura to describe devastatingly desirable boys). Fortunately, the vanity of our efforts circuitously led us to our current reigning “studmuffins” and the beautiful progeny afforded by them. Ironically, Eowyn and Kincaid are nearly identical in age to Anna and Jack and since Laura has recently escaped the liberal bastion of Rhode Island and returned home, our children may now begin to conspire during escapades in rhododendron bushes or on the Ocean City boardwalk . . . proving that sometimes the best laid of plans of [wo]men often go awry- but in the best way un-imaginable.

Eowyn and Anna (p.s. Eowyn got her hair cut- She looks about 15 and it makes me want to cry)

One of the first "studmuffins"

just want to say, I looooove the haircut!! she does look more little girlish and less toddler, but not certainly not 15! precious memories for the cousins to start. glad you're near each other now. that's such a blessing!
Her hair is adorable!!!!!
Eowyn's smile is dazzling and yet so "impish" that it always makes you wonder if she is up to something in her little three year old mind. Regardless, I LOVE HER!!!!
Thanks for the tribute... Guess I got overshadowed by your kid's haircut and impish grin. That's probably just as well.
How exciting to have close family nearby...Love the pic with you and Laura in a car with your dad...priceless smiles.
Yay! I'm happy for you that Laura is back in the area and I hope to have the chance to meet her too!
I really enjoyed this post! Very nostaglic and well-written. Love it! And the kids are too cute.
Thank you everyone, on Laura's behalf. She and her husband are semi-celebrities in the Lansdale area. I am the lucky one... just to know them :)
I love all the cute pics. Although I have to disagree with the studmuffin pic....afterall he is my cousin. The pic of your dad, you and Laura in the car is just priceless!
