…Thus, we have instituted a chore chart for Eowyn, hoping to instill the virtues of capitalism and familial responsibility. Discovering that all acts of service are not intrinsically motivated by her goodwill, we have introduced a monetary “carrot”. A generous allowance of one “Washington” a week has been afforded to her to than be distributed amongst four separate investments: Tithe, Savings, Missions/Charity, and Frivolity. Amazingly, the concept of incentives is not lost on a three year old in contrast to the millions of government “beneficiaries.” Incidentally, under the “Says Kind Words” category- the word “entitlement” is considered profane. And like any wise investor, she frequently checks her stock inquiring, “Mama, how am I doing with whining today?” (Tear rolls down my cheek.) Accountability, discipline, service, sacrifice. This little girl is one less recruit for the Left.

Indoctrination

that chart is pretty cool. where did you pick that up? it looks like it has other "catagories" that you can put up there too.
PS- I would go with teaching "responsibility" is a broader Biblical statute than a Conservative one... just saying.
Ryan- I agree with you- "responsibility" is a broader biblical principle. Finally, we agree on something :)
The chart, I think, is from an education store...like "Beckers." You could also check Ann Coulter's website- I am sure she has links to on-line manufacturers :)
I wouldn't say this is first time we've agreed. What is Eowyn saving up for, her first Glock?
Ok...let me leave a little plug for homeschooling..you can find these charts at virtually ANY homeschooling convention...amidst the wealth of wisdom and biblical teaching tools that can not be found anywhere else! Trust me...I too am raising God-fearing, gun-toting, hardworking, self-providing, servants for the Lord...in an attempt to better our nation!
Thanks Liz, for the tip- and the five productive citizens :)
Ryan- she is saving up for a PINK glock. . . And jonathan? A bike made of recyled rubbermaid containers? :)
I still vividly remember watching you Neil Kulp kids dutifully dividing up your earnings on a Saturday morning and putting them into those little plastic butter containers. (A concept completely foreign to us Jim Kulpers). I really like the chore chart idea. Might have to steal that one lest my child walk around dropping the e-bomb.
He does already have a bike, however it is made of renewable wood from non- rain forest timber.
a pink glock? thats disappointing. I don't think your dream of ninja spy woman would ever carry a pink glock. If you are going to indoctrinate your child, make sure its for them to fulfill all the dreams you were not able to complete. Thats what I'm doing with Jonathan. haha
