Playing Pretend

Eowyn’s tendency towards "theatrics" is of no great surprise considering her maternal ancestry. Of late, she hasbeen given to engaging me in tête-à-têtes that commence with her pronouncement of motherhood, “Did you know, I am a mommy?” and continue with commiserating remarks regarding the tempestuous nature of her baby, “Kincaid is such a stinker.” (Which is also true now, in real life)

However, when she is not lamenting the travails of her parental responsibility, she forages through her Princess wardrobe, bedazzling herself with every (plastic) bauble and adornment afforded in her pink velvet treasure chest of imaginative wonders. Interestingly, she has a love/hate relationship with the clip-on earrings: She would desperately love to feature the faux jewels on her tiny lobes; yet, she hates the clipping-on pinch which serves to lessen the luster of their appeal. And I love that she hates the perceived pain of piercings.

Meanwhile, as Eowyn portrays Princess Aurora, Kincaid (effectually) pretends to be a tornado and destroys everything upon which his enormous hands rest. However, unlike his sister, there is no aspect about this pretending that he hates. It’s all love.

Wow! I'm impressed Eowyn, does "pretend" in style! Kincaid, what can I say, typical boy, lol. Gotta love the dipaer pic. Someday he will LOVE you for that. :-)
