While Egyptian unrest captured public attention (until eclipsed by the pressing drama of the Bachelor), Eowyn did her part to promote good will amongst (little) women in her corner of the free world. For weeks previous, Eowyn’s Second Annual Valentine’s Soiree consumed her energies-creative, domestic and culinary as she prepared for this social highlight of the Skippack winter season (which -in truth- has little competition)
With the same enthusiasm Mr. Obama reserves for hosting international apology dinners, Eowyn delightedly labored to perfect her heart-themed hospitality. No party provision was impervious to a pink pallor or an affectionate branding. Inevitably, Princesses were woven into the fabric of the occasion, since Eowyn judges the absence of Sleeping Beauty a tragedy on par with Chernobyl. While the guest list was restricted to the fairer (less physically aggressive and dangerously destructive) sex, a few familial exceptions were made after a dose of Benadryl was administered. :)
And as the little women departed amid their faux velvet finery and pretty plastic pearls, Eowyn exclaimed, in her semi-sophisticated, socially-satisfied, sing-songy squeal, “Well, that was a lovely time!” -So lovely that perhaps a St. Patrick’s Soiree is in order, if only to justify popping Irish potatoes like a lucky Dublin junkie.
