Hawaiian Bucket List

Pro-Bowl at Aloha Stadium. Check. Pipe-Line Surfing Competition on the North Shore. Check. Matthew McConaughey sunset beach stroll. Not yet checked.

Don't be jealous. Seriously. As I am learning, the grass always appears greener even on an island where the grass skirts are perennially emerald.

A taste of reality:
1) Aloha Stadium makes the Lincoln Financial Field seem like Versailles. It's just ghetto and technologically archaic.  And since the parking lot was the size of my highschool's,  all but 250 lucky motorists were required to literally park an island away (on Ford Island).

2) Surfing is truly exhilarating to watch, though strangely it did not translate to the tepid "golf clap" by the beach audience. However, attending a surf competition with children is as much fun as grocery shopping with them. (It's a technique interrogators should implement at Gitmo.) To complicate matters, the surfer demographic -long hair, devil may care, peace-love-happiness, PETA types- are generally disinclined to tolerate public spankings. So, I had to resort to privately pinching Caid when he started to take a stick to a stray dog. Yes, a stick to a sympathetic stray ! Can you imagine by horror (and my punishing pinch)?

3) Sunsest stroll with Matt - well, one can dream.
